Japan Dumps 3 MILLION Gallons Of Radioactive Water Into Pacific Ocean After Covering Up Water Radiation Levels 7.5 Millions Times Legal Limit
Japan and TEPCO covered up radiation levels 7.5 million times above legal limits in the seawater.
Sadly these these were levels measured in the seawater before they dumped 3 million gallons of radioactive water into the ocean.
As I previously reported TEPCO was given approval by Japanese authorities to dump 11,500 tons of radioactive seawater into the Pacific Ocean.
Japan: TEPCO to release 11,500 tons of nuclear radioactive water into the Pacific Ocean declaring the water to be dumped contains only low levels of radioactivity. In reality the water about to be dumped is highly radioactive as I point out below.
That plan was followed through with and Japan dumped 3 million gallons of radioactive water into the ocean.
Japan dumps 3 million gallons of radioactive water into sea
Workers pumped more than 3 million gallons of contaminated water from Japan’s nuclear-power complex into the Pacific Ocean to free storage space for even more highly radioactive water.

TOKYO — Workers pumped more than 3 million gallons of contaminated water from Japan’s tsunami-ravaged nuclear-power complex into the Pacific Ocean on Tuesday, to free storage space for even more highly radioactive water that has hampered efforts to stabilize the plant’s reactors.

After dumping the waste, it was assured that there was no health risks even though the radioactive water radiation levels were 500 times legal limits.
Kyodo news reports:
Tokyo Electric Power Co. on Monday took the unprecedented measure of dumping 10,000 tons of low-level radioactive water in the Pacific Ocean from a facility at its crippled Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power complex to make room for the storage of more highly contaminated water, which is hampering restoration work at the plant.
Nishiyama also said that it had become necessary to release 1,500 tons of groundwater, also containing radioactive materials, found near the Nos. 5 and 6 reactor turbine buildings out of concern that the water could drown safety-related equipment.
Of course, the government said there was “no major health risk”, even though:
The level of radioactive substances in the water is up to 500 times the legal limit permitted for release in the environment.
The Japan Times is now reporting TEPCO and the Japanese government covered up the fact that radiation in the seawater was 7.5 million times the legal limit BEFORE they dumped 3 million gallons of radioactive water into the ocean:
Tokyo Electric Knew Radiation In Seawater Was Sky-High
“’Tokyo Electric knew that the amount of radiation in seawater was 7.5 million times the legal limit even before it started dumping radioactive water in the ocean on Monday. “The unstoppable radioactive discharge into the Pacific has prompted experts to sound the alarm, as cesium, which has a much longer half-life than iodine, is expected to concentrate in the upper food chain,” reports Japan Times, prompting fears that all of Japan’s seafood could be declared unsafe.’

To make matters worse as I reported in one of the items in The Daily Double Speak radiation is already being detected in fish caught off the east coast of Japan
Radioactive fish caught off coast of Japan spark fears over sushi stocks
Sushi supplies in Japan could be at risk after radioactive fish were caught off its east coast.
Officials in the tsunami-striken nation said they had detected high levels of radioactive iodine and cesium in sand lace fish caught in the Pacific ocean near the troubled Fukushima nuclear power plant.

And how has the Government of Japan responded? They raise the radiation levels allowed in seafood to prevent people from worrying about the radiation.
Japan Nuclear Meltdown: Japanese Government Sets New Radiation Safety Levels for Seafood
In the wake of the Japan nuclear meltdown, the Japanese government has set new radiation safety levels for seafood. Tepco has dumped gallons of radiation contaminated water into the sea near the Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear power complex.
While things appear to be stabilizing somewhat, there is still radiation that is millions of times over the legal limit in the sea near the beleaguered plant. This makes it scary to eat the fish that are caught in the region. People do not want to have to deal with worries about radiation contaminated seafood.
