CENSORED: MSNBC Cuts Away From Bernie Sanders as He Condemns TPP Trans-Pacific Partnership

MSNBC’s owner, Comcast, benefits so much from censoring the truth about the TPP Trans-Pacific Partnership and other trade deals such as NAFTA that Comcast and it’s affiliates have dropped a whopping $152,822,323 on lobbying since 1998 and has made $33,000,000 in campaign contributions since 1989.

“You’ve been listening to Bernie Sanders, less of a press conference, more of a speech. I want to turn back to the Republican side of things,” said Kate Snow, as she pivoted to news of Ted Cruz firing a press spokesperson.

MSNBC owner Comcast has lobbied for the TPP. Last year, it fired host Ed Schultz, an outspoken opponent of the agreement.

A Media Matters study found that outside of Schultz’s show, the TPP was mentioned only twice on MSNBC during an 18-month period. Last year, MSNBC host Joe Scarborough admitted to The Intercept that his network was “guilty” of ignoring the TPP.

MSNBC isn’t alone in suppressing TPP coverage; CBS, ABC and NBC also barely mentioned the treaty over an 18-month period despite the TPP’s severe implications on both the U.S. economy and global human trafficking.

The White House invited Thailand to join the TPP after the AP reported the country was relying on slave labor to ship shrimp to the U.S.

Ironically, Obama quietly removed the TPP’s anti-slavery clause.

Leaders of the 12 participating countries – United States, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Brunei, Singapore, Vietnam, Canada, Mexico, Peru and Chile – signed the Trans-Pacific Partnership agreement on Feb. 4 2016 in New Zealand.

Perhaps the most controversial issue with the TPP – Trans-Pacific Partnership is the Investor-State Dispute Settlement (ISDS) mechanism which opponents say would enable corporations to sue governments in secretive, supra-judicial courts for their respective governments legislation (safety laws, workers rights, environmental laws, etc.) that would harm their profits.

Concerned citizens, trade unions and community organizations from around the U.S. and the world delivered 2 MILLION PETITIONS to congress to stop the TPP and your elected officials still fast tracked it. People should be outraged but the media controls the narrative and the majority of people do not receive this type of information.
